We meet each Sunday at 10.30am at Nether Dechmont in the Carmondean area of Livingston. The church was founded back in 1986 as an Elim Pentecostal Church. There are over 550 churches in the UK & Ireland that belong to the Elim Movement. This year marks the 105th Anniversary of the founding of the Elim Evangelistic Band in Monaghan, Ireland.
We aim to be a church that honours Jesus Christ by upholding biblical truth as relevant and life-transforming. Our services last around 90 minutes and include a time of sung worship plus preaching that aims to connect the Bible to everyday life. Communion is celebrated on a fortnightly basis. Through the week there are a variety of activities and groups that take place. We’re a friendly mix of over 100 people and you’re very welcome to join us whether living locally or just visiting.
The name Elim comes from the oasis of 12 springs and 70 palm trees in Exodus 15 where the people of God camped. Our prayer is that people are refreshed as they experience the Lord’s loving presence here. Jesus is “the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6) and our hope is that each one of us find rest and peace, grace and mercy, hope and healing in Him. Indeed, all that we need for life’s journey and beyond.
